Since operating this unit a couple of months ago it has been a very good item. It is well built, quick to heat for only 700 watts, and most of all it's one of the few that did not have a handle. My only complaint is the beep. It's loud and too many at the end time, also a beep for every button pushed. Otherwise very happy with the unit so far...

Check out this video review of the CN-160. I highly recommend using this light. It was a lifesaver in a low light wedding event. I mainly shoot video, so this light is awesome for the $$. This light is so bright, I've even used it as a fill light in various lighting situations.

Update:

After using the light a little longer, I'm still a huge fan for the price. However, I should mention a couple of cons (all of which are minor imo).

1. The tungsten filter is too orange for my tastes. So, if you are relying on this light because of the tungsten filter, you may want to reconsider or make your own filter. There's a nice little slot where the filters slide into.

2. The construction is plastic, however, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's cheap plastic. I feel comfortable with the construction, but don't expect it to be indestructible.

All in all, this light still gets 5 stars.

I have edited this review to keep up with my new review format, but the sentiments haven't changed!

CONSTRUCTION

Let's start with this: Is this of the same quality as a pro reflector? No. I am already feeling the rim starting to bend in places and ways it shouldn't, but I do not anticipate it breaking any time soon. The panels themselves are made of good quality material, and so far the case has withstood many travels! As one commenter helpfully pointed out, "the reflector folds up into a 16" diameter carrying case that is roughly 3.5" (but can be compressed to about one half that)".

FUNCTION

Does this thing work like it should? Absolutely. As I mentioned it is made of good materials and has held up very well so far. I am a pro photographer, but never above a good deal - I am a big supporter of "the little guy". The versatility of this little reflector is excellent - you can use it for almost any situation, and I find myself switching from silver to gold to translucent within the same shoot, because we all know that changing an angle outdoors can completely change your lighting! Works quite nicely as a shoot-through if you have an assistant to hold it!

OVERALL

Would I buy this again? Absolutely. The sheer quality of this reflector at the price paid, makes the "best bang for your buck" cliché almost bearable! Out of all of my photog friends, not one can pick this out as a budget reflector, and several have been converted. It has stood up to the test of time (see updates below), and that is all I can ask or expect.

Cheap.

Works.

Recommended.

**EDIT**

Almost a year, and PLENTY of shoots later, and this great piece of equipment is still going strong!!! I use this thing on most out door shoots which don't require off camera flash, and for portraits you can't go wrong! Highly recommended still! You can either order from Papa John's this week or get an excellent Reflector...your choice.

**EDIT 2**

It has now been 23 months, and the only issue I have had is some loose threads from the hanging loop. I cut them off, burned them with a lighter to stop any future deterioration and so far I have had no issues. My initial worries about it bending in the wrong places have been totally wiped out - this thing is still going strong. Highly recommended!

Sony NEX-6L/B 16.1 MP Compact Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera with 16-50mm Power Zoom Lens and 3-Inch LED (Black)

CUSTOMER REVIEW

In 1973 I bought a Rollei 35 - a 35mm camera with a collapsible 40 mm f/3.5 lens. It cost $200, equal to about $1,000 today. It was fully manual - no auto- anything. There was an optical viewfinder but no rangefinder. It took great pictures and fit in a coat pocket. Now we have the Sony NEX-6, only marginally larger than the Rollei, effectively for the same price when you adjust for inflation.

Even though I have a Canon 5D Mark II, a wonderful DSLR, its size and weight are a big deterrent to taking it with me routinely. So I wanted a camera designed in the spirit of the Rollei 35 - to fit in a coat pocket, have a sensor big enough to make 11 x 14 enlargements, have a zoom lens with a 24mm field of view, and a have a built-in viewfinder, not an add-on, and not just an LCD. Until now (11/2012) the options were the Sony NEX-7, upcoming Fuji X-E1 and the larger Olympus OM-D, all at $1300 or more.

I have now taken about 500 shots and the NEX-6 is close to perfect for my purposes - a digital reincarnation of the Rollei 35. But it won't be right for everyone.

The heart of the NEX-6 is an APS-C size sensor, the size in the vast majority of DSLRs. It's 1.5 times the size of a the "4/3rds" sensor found in similar Olympus and Panasonic cameras and 3 times the size of the sensor in Nikon 1 cameras. As a result, the image quality is excellent up to ISO 1600 and not bad up to ISO 6400. A new Sony kit lens gives a field of view equal to 24-75mm on a 35mm camera. The lens focuses quickly and collapses to a small size, so the camera fits in a coat pocket or the corner of a backpack. There are some complaints on Internet forums about the lens vignetting and about distortion at the wide end. The camera corrects distortion in JPEGs by itself (unless you turn that feature off). Although the raw images are not corrected, they're easily correctable in Photoshop etc. Adobe and Aperture both have offered the usual downloadable updates to interpret NEX-6 raw files, so if you prefer to edit raw files you can make distortion corrections with standard software tools.

All shooting parameters are readily adjustable. There's a standard "PASM" dial for selecting the shooting mode. The initial setup menu is complicated and not entirely logical but you can configure the controls very flexibly. Most notably, you can program the Fn button to call up the six parameters you change most frequently - ISO, drive mode, metering mode... There are 16 parameters to choose from. The LCD can display a full set of shooting parameters and you can adjust each one with the control dial on the back, so you after initial setup don't have to go into the menu to change settings.

The viewfinder is electronic, not optical as with a DSLR. It's like a little LCD with 2.1 million dots. It's sharp and very responsive, but not as good as an optical viewfinder in low light. (To get the full value of the viewfinder, be sure to adjust the diopter wheel to suit your eye.) The LCD screen folds up or down so you can hold the camera at your waist or above your head. The LCD is not touch-sensitive. Oddly, Sony's NEX-5N and the new NEX-5R cameras have that feature, A touch-sensitive LCD would be helpful for entering WiFi passwords and selecting menu options, but if you buy the Sony NEX-5R, you give up the NEX-6's PASM control dial and other control features as well as the excellent built-in viewfinder (though you can buy a clip-on accessory EVF).

You charge the battery via a USB cable, not a charger that plugs into the wall, which means you can charge it from a computer or in many cars, but there's no way to charge a spare battery. (There are inexpensive aftermarket charges on Amazon & elsewhere; it's probably best to buy a "genuine" Sony if you want a spare battery.) Battery life is just fair. The camera tries to autofocus continuously, which eats battery life. Supposedly Sony is going to fix that with a firmware update. The camera also has WiFi, which reduces battery life. WiFi lets you control the camera remotely with a smart phone and upload photos. Using it is non-intuitive and badly integrated with the rest of the menu system. Sony's instructions for WiFi setup are useless. Error messages appear to be literal translations from Japanese, like reading something from a 1960 made-in-Japan radio. The LCD does not have a touch screen, so entering WiFi SSIDs and passwords is done using a QWERTY soft keyboard that is a bit clumsy to navigate. Worse, your Sony password for downloading apps is entered using a soft version of a phone keypad, even though the QWERTY keyboard is available for entering WiFi access point info. Although WiFi setup is very clumsy, once it's done it does open up some interesting options. Example: with the remote control app you can see the image from the camera on you phone or tablet and use it for precise focusing, and trip the shutter, of course. But you can't adjust aperture or shutter speed, at least in the current version of the app. (Edit added 3/15/2013: There are aftermarket products that let you use an iPad/iPhone to do that.)

The positives - especially the excellent image quality and the ease of setting a wide range of shooting parameters -- greatly outweigh the negatives. If you already have a small DSLR like a Canon Rebel or Nikon 3200 or similar, the size advantage from an NEX-6 is marginal. But if you have a "pro-sumer" or full-frame DSLR and you want a highly capable camera you can easily take almost everywhere, the NEX-6 is a worthwhile choice, If you don't have a DSLR and you're think about getting one, the NEX-6 is a good alternative - a DSLR near-equivalent you can put in a coat pocket.

This is the exact product that is offered by traditional brick and mortar stores, sold a lower price.

The air purifier system is a required filter on LG refrigerators. As a "Smart" refrigerator little sensors remind you to change to the filters (both air and water). After the sensor went off I looked for the product number online and ordered it. A few days later the filter arrived, I popped open the filter compartment swapped it out and went about my day.

Pros: This is made by LG, fits perfectly. Not sure if I would recommend an aftermarket filter unless it were made by a reputable company.

Cons: None.

There must be a monopoly on this product, because the price for these disposable tubes is outrageous. These are one mini keg, and done. Really irritated that I can't find copy cat product elsewhere. Also, the tubes are longer than they should be, still trying to figure that one out. If you are the only company able to make these cheap plastic tubes, you would think that they would fit perfectly. Not so much.

Showed up on time and was easy to replace. The old one looked the same as the new one in every way. I replaced it because the door system said it was time. The next week we had the LG repairman out on another issue (to replace the tracks on the flimsy upper drawer in the freezer) and he told me that the air filter may never need replaced, and the water filter should last twice as long as the unit would let you think. At the price charged for these filters..........

DO NOT BUY FROM "Parts Appliance CHICAGO"

I am a bit surprised looking at the good 4 and 5 star rating for this product and seller. We had a very frustrating, insulting treatment with the "Parts Appliance CHICAGO"'s customer care. I would rather never buy from them.

The image of this filter is exactly the as the other filter that fits out Frigidaire refrigerator. There is no way to find out if this model infact does fit my refrigerator.

Once we realized that this filter was not made for our refrigerator model, we returned it, only to get $15 back (they took away $10 for return shipping + $9 restocking fee etc).

My wife called them back to ask the reason of this kind of unreasonable charges, they were very rude and instead of resolving the matter told me wife that she was calling for merely $8 dollars.

I have never seen such bad customer service ever!!! They should tell their employees that their are paid from the money customers like us pay to them. Be courteous atleast.

Will never buy anything from " Parts Appliance Chicago " and also spread the word around so that others don't get cheated and insulted after paying money for goods they never kept/used.

The Olympus Stylus SH-50 has an awesome zoom, nice image quality, and tons of great features.

Design wise the Olympus is very handsome and understated. It has a rubberized grip on the front that makes holding the camera easy and the camera feels great in the hand. The camera's materials are very nice with a metal front plate. The buttons and dials feel high quality and work smoothly. It's nicely assembled and feels sturdy. Size wise it's not going to fit into a jean pocket but will travel well in a jacket pocket or a small bag. Included with the Olympus is a USB cable that plugs into your computer or the included power adaptor. The battery charges in camera. Also included is a stylus to operate the touch screen, but I found the touch screen worked well enough that I didn't need it.

The Olympus has lots of features that cater to photographers of every skill set. For those who prefer to let the camera do all of the work there is an automatic mode, a handful of scene modes, and a few artistic filters (pinhole, fisheye, etc.). One thing to be aware of is that in automatic mode the camera will rarely fire the flash. The Olympus would rather keep the shutter speed low. That may result in blurry photos due to camera and/or subject movement. To make matters worse, in automatic mode you're only given two choices for the flash, automatic and off, so you can't even force the flash to fire manually. The solution is to shoot in P mode or the indoor scene mode, where flash fires much more readily. This is a pretty odd way for the camera to behave, and I think it is the Olympus' biggest flaw. For those who want more control the camera offers a fully manual mode that lets you choose the aperture (only two available at any given zoom), shutter speed (from 15" - 1/2000), and ISO speed (there is no auto ISO in M mode). Additionally, there are two presets for custom white balance. One thing I don't like is that the Olympus does not have a dedicated macro button. If you want to access the closest shooting range you have to enter the macro scene mode, which is completely automated.

Using the Olympus is easy. The buttons are well laid out, the menu system is simple and easy to understand, and the touch screen is very responsive. The thing about the touch screen is that it only controls a very limited set of functions. When taking photos it will let you tap take the photo or just set the focus/exposure. It works well and responds quickly. In playback mode you can use the touch screen to go through photos or pan when zoomed into a photo.

The Olympus is a very speedy camera. After you turn it on it is ready to shoot in about 4 seconds. It focuses at wide angle in about 1 second and the long end in about 2 seconds. It rarely hunts for focus, even at full telephoto. Continuous shooting speeds are also great. When shooting full resolution you are offered a choice of two speeds. The faster one takes a few photos every second and stops after 17 photos, while the slower speed takes about 1 photo every second and I stopped at 50 photos but the camera could keep shooting.

Photo quality of the Olympus is great. Color, exposure, and focus are perfect about 99% of the time. Overall, the photos have a very pleasant and appealing look with rich accurate color and nice tonality. However, the one place where the Olympus falters is with resolving fine detail. This is a small sensor packed with pixels and in order to combat noise (color speckling) Olympus chooses to blur it away. Therefore, even at the lowest ISO speeds, details like grass and hair end up looking mushy and indistinct. I'd consider up to ISO 400 as where you'd want to do most of your shooting, use ISO 800-1600 in a pinch, and stay away from higher sensitivities as photos look less like photos and more like blotchy watercolor paintings. Still, unless you're making huge prints, or cropping photos dramatically, you probably won't even notice the loss of detail and will be very happy with the photos the Olympus takes. The image stabilizer is very effective and I was able to take sharp shots at wide angle at 1/5 and at telephoto at 1/250. Strangely, the stabilizer will sometimes make a loud squeaking/farting noise at full telephoto. Be careful in a quiet setting as people may think the noise is coming from you!

Movies shot with the Olympus are quite nice. They are full high definition and have stereo sound. You can use the optical zoom while shooting, but you'll hear the motor on the recording in quiet environments. The image stabilizer is very effective, and movies are smooth and have little shake.

The lens on the Olympus is quite a performer. Not only does it start at a nice wide angle of 25mm (letting you fit more in the photo), but also the 24x optical zoom lets you get really close without reduction in photo quality. The lens is sharp, and even wide open at wide angle the corners are only a little soft. Another nice thing about the lens is that is starts at f/3.0 on the wide end. That number represents the lens' aperture. The lower than number the more light the lens can collect. Most cameras in this class start at f/3.3 or more, so at wide angle the Olympus will be a better camera in low light. At telephoto the lens is a not so great f/6.9, so you won't want to zoom with the Olympus in low light unless you have a tripod or are willing to live with the detail loss the required high ISO speeds will entail.

Battery life is great and I was able to take 386 photos with lots of zooming, reviewing, and menu navigating before the battery died.

All in all... a terrific mega-zoom compact camera.

Feel free to leave a comment with any questions you may have and I'll answer them as soon as I can.

I took it to the swimming pool with my daughter and niece as a test run, and got some great shots of my niece swimming underwater, and alternated with underwater shots and above the water shots. The camera is made to slough off the water as soon as you pull it out, so the pictures out of the water don't have spots or water drops on them. It seems like a minor thing, but it really made a huge difference. As for being waterproof, it seemed to hold up great. After we got home, I noticed it had some chlorine spots on a couple pictures (after I tried to use a dry cleaning cloth on it) so I soaked it in a sink full of clean water for about 5 minutes, and voila! Perfect photos again. I've seen some reviews that say this camera doesn't work well inside, haven't noticed a problem myself. Pretty much every single picture I've taken with the camera has turned out with great color balance and good lighting. I have had a couple overexpose a bit with the flash, but hey, this is a point and shoot camera, not a professional grade camera. The overexposure can be fixed on the camera itself with the offered image editing or with editing software on your computer.

We'll be taking the camera on a trip to the lake in a week, so we'll see how it holds up with the sand and murky water, but so far I am more than pleased with this little camera, especially for the price! Can't wait to take it out and play with it some more.

EDIT: Used this camera on a trip in pools, lakes, and rivers. Had a blast. Got some great shots in the water, above the water, canoeing, kayaking, and even in a water feature fountain thing for the kids to play in, all with no worries about water leakage. I do recommend purchasing a floating wrist strap because the camera itself doesn't float if you drop it in deep water. Even in the lake and river the pictures came out great, though you need to be close to your subject in dirtier/murkier water. After a month and a couple weeks, I'd say it's already earned its keep for the price I paid. I think we took somewhere around 1600 photos on a two week trip with this little camera, and 99% of them were fantastic. I also bought an extra extended life battery, and with constant shooting, I did need to change the batteries about once a day. But, I take a LOT of photos.

EDIT2: After reading some of the other reviews here, I think something needs to be said - this is NOT an expensive, professional level camera. It isn't being sold as one, because it's not. No, you are not going to get perfect pictures every single time. You're not going to get perfectly clear-as-day underwater photos (although you will get some awesome ones). This is a point-and-shoot camera that you can take in the water with you. If you expect more than point-and-shoot quality, you should not buy this camera. But understand you will spend more money on something else. For the average user, it is an absolutely fantastic camera for the price. You can take it anywhere, it fits in your POCKET (how nice is that?) and it will stand up to being dropped, getting wet, getting cold, etc. Take it on your family vacation without worrying about it. Now try to do that with a $3000 professional camera. Also, for people saying the quality sucks, I have blown up some of the photos from this camera to 16x20 prints and hung them on the wall. I certainly can't tell they were taken with a $140 camera, and neither can anyone else.
