ASUS AND SAMSUNG SET TO LAUNCH CEDAR TRAIL NETBOOKS

Although Intel unveiled its Cedar Trail Atom chips this summer, none of the netbooks currently shipping sport this processor. Word is that the new processors have some problems with their graphics drivers. Intel is expected to launch the repaired chips in December. That means Cedar Trail netbooks are unlikely to hit the market in time for the holiday shopping season.

RIM DROPS THE PRICE OF BLACKBERRY PLAYBOOK TO $199

RIM has officially dropped the price of its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. This is a limited period offer. SONY TABLET P NOW AVAILABLE IN THE UK

The Sony Tablet P has started shipping in the UK. The dual screen device has a pair of 5.5 inch, 1024 x 480 pixels displays which can be folded into a cylindrical form. The same app can be run across both displays. Alternatively you can run one app on each screen.


The Sony Tablet P was introduced this summer. In the UK, retailer Dixons is taking orders for the tablet for £499.99 (about $782).

ASUS EEE PAD TRANSFORMER PRIME UP FOR PRE-ORDER

Amazon has started taking pre-orders for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime Android tablet. The 32GB model runs $492.20. If you need more storage space, you can consider buying the 64GB model which will set you back $584.22. Bear in mind that these are the prices of the tablet. AS MANY AS 50 ULTRABOOKS IN THE WORKS

Word is that as many as 50 ultrabooks could be on display at CES in January 2012. While that sounds too good to be true, Intel has also predicted that by the end of 2012 ultrabooks will constitute nearly 40% of all laptop sales.

In a bid to satisfy German courts, Samsung has made slight variations to the design of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android tablet. A little over a few months ago a German court had prohibited Samsung from selling the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 because Apple complained that it infringed on their copyrights.
