AMD TO LAUNCH LOW POWER KRISHNA AND WICHITA CHIPS NEXT YEAR

AMD will reportedly launch a new line of low power notebook and tablet chips next year. The upcoming processors are the dual core Krishna and the Wichita which can support up to four cores.

A leaked product map shows that the Krishna processor will have dual cores, entry level graphics and a maximum power draw of 8W. That means it will be even more power efficient than the 9W AMC C-Series

Now a German court too has upheld that view and issued a preliminary injunction which will effectively prevent Samsung from selling its tablet in most parts of the European Union. The 7 inch Acer Iconia Tab A100 Android tablet has started shipping. US retailer SuperBiiz is now selling the 8GB version of the tablet for $334.


The Iconia Tab A100 measures 0.5 inches in thickness and weighs 0.9 pounds. It is powered by a dual core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 250 processor. Other specifications include 1GB of RAM, 1024 x 600 pixels capacitive touchscreen display, WiFi and Bluetooth.
